Land Acknowledgement
We respectfully acknowledge that the land which The Chantler Centre resides on is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe Nation, also known as the Anishinabek Nation Territory.
The Anishinabek include The Ojibwe, Odawa and Pottawatomi nations, collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy. We also recognize that the Wendat (Huron) and the Haudenosaunee Nations (Iroquois) have also walked on this territory over time. We would also like to acknowledge the enduring presence of the many Indigenous Peoples in this region.
We do this to affirm our commitment and responsibility in improving our relationships between nations and to improve our own understanding of local Indigenous Peoples and their cultures.
