Early Learning Programs & Therapies
The earliest years of a child's development matter most.
The earliest years of a child's development matter most. Our inclusive early learning programs and evidence-based therapies; including Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology, are provided free of charge to South Simcoe County families. Services are offered as stand-alone sessions or through our full-day Alternative Education Program, where therapeutic goals are woven directly into each child's daily learning.
Diagnostic Assessment Services
Early identification opens the door to better outcomes.
Early identification opens the door to better outcomes. The Chantler Centre offers standardized developmental screenings and multidisciplinary evaluations delivered by qualified psychologists, behaviour analysts, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists. Families receive written reports, individualized recommendations, and clear referrals — at no cost — so the path forward starts sooner.
Physical Fitness & Movement
Facilitate social‑skills and peer‑engagement programs…
Physical activity builds more than strong bodies; it builds confidence, coordination, and connection. Our movement programs are designed for children and youth who face barriers to mainstream sport and recreation. Trained instructors adapt sessions to each participant's abilities and sensory profile, using our gymnasium, baseball and soccer fields, and dedicated sensory room. We also partner with local sport organizations to deliver inclusive programming right here at the Centre.
Social Skills & Peer Engagement
Friendships change everything.
Friendships change everything. Our small-group social-skills programs use modelling, guided practice, cooperative games, role-playing, and visual supports to help children develop communication, emotional regulation, and the confidence to connect with peers. Delivered year-round at no cost in a familiar, autism-aware environment, our programs give children the consistency and comfort they need to practise new skills and carry them into everyday life.
Family Workshops & Community Events
Raising a child with autism is a shared journey…
Raising a child with autism is a shared journey and no family should walk it alone. The Chantler Centre offers free workshops led by qualified professionals on topics like navigating services, supporting communication at home, managing sensory needs, and promoting positive behaviour. Our community space is open to local organizations for parent support groups and information sessions. Regular family events bring caregivers together to learn, connect, and build the supportive networks that make all the difference.
